‘Everything is Going to be K.O.’ – Dyslexia, Dyspraxia & ADHD
‘Everything is Going to be K.O.’
Short Animation Film by someone with Dyslexia, Dyspraxia & ADHD
I heard about this young lady a couple of years ago, and it was so interesting, I thought I would put it out again, in case some people hadn’t seen it.
When Kaiya Stone, 24 started studying Ancient Greek and Latin at Oxford University, she discovered that she had dyslexia and dyspraxia, (she also thinks she probably has ADHD).
Stone decided to make an animation film to try to show people how she ‘sees’ the world. The film, called ‘Everything is Going to be K.O.’, was written by Stone, produced and she also starred in it; when it was shown at the Theatre Royal, Stratford.
Stone, who has achieved remarkably well academically attained, 8 A* at GCSE, 3 A’s at A-Level and also graduated with a 2:1 degree in classics. Despite this success, she still believes she would have achieved even more had she been diagnosed earlier.
Stone does believe that having dyslexia, dyspraxia and maybe ADHD, actually helps her as she is a ‘visual thinker’. Often people who can see ‘visually’, such as architects, can ‘visualise’ the finished building, that can make some projects easier.
