“Overcoming Barriers to Recording and Learning, using ICT”
Free Event – Chippenham
The Wiltshire Dyslexia Association is holding the following FREE event on Wednesday 9th May.

3.30pm – focus for teaching staff
7.00pm – focus for parents and carers
Myles Pilling – Council Member at British Assistive Technology Association (BATA) Ltd, Specialist ICT SEND Consultant for AccessAbility Solutions, AbilityNet County Co-Ordinator, External Lecturer for Bath Spa University.
○ Alternatives to writing using apps that help with reading, writing and studying. We shall look at what is currently available that is free as well as at a cost – mostly low cost! Awareness of what is out there is still very hit and miss so this event hopes to explain how such apps can work both in the school setting but also in the home.
○ At the 3.30pm session – strategies and ways of implementation will be part of a short discussion – for schools.
○ At the 7pm session – practical tools for the home setting and strategies for using ICT with your children – for parents and carers.
