Several ways to help young children with Dysgraphia / Handwriting Problems
There are several ways to help young children write correctly:
- One of the main things is to ensure the child is sitting in the correct position. Feet on the floor, weight evenly distributed. Forearm on the desk, hand holding paper still. Sit, very slightly forward.
- Ensure they use the correct pencil grip.
- Make sure the pencil is the correct size. Most pencils and pens are far too big for little fingers. Save some money and cut the pencils in half.
If I had my way, I would like all of the youngest children at school to use a pencil grip.
